Merging Accounts

If you've ended up with two Prodigy accounts — usually from signing up under more than one email address, or from departments that invited a different address than the one you already use — you can merge them yourself. Merging moves everything from one account into the other and lets you sign in with either email address, so your whole training history lives in one place.

Merging is permanent

A merge can't be undone — once two accounts are combined they can't be separated again. Make sure both accounts belong to you before you start.

Before You Start

You'll need to be able to sign in to both accounts: the one you want to keep and the one you want to merge in. The account you're signed in to when you begin becomes the destination — the account you'll keep using — and the other account's data is moved into it.

If you can't get into one of the accounts, reset its password first (see Trouble Logging In?), or contact Support@prodigyems.com and we'll help.

Start the Merge

  1. Sign in to the account you want to keep.
  2. Open Manage Account from your profile menu.
  3. Under User Settings, open Emails & Account Merge.
  4. In the Account Merge section, click Merge Existing Account.
  5. Enter the email address of your other account and click Request Merge.

You'll see a Merge Request Submitted message, and we'll send a confirmation email to that other account. (If no account matches the address you entered, no email is sent.)

Approve the Merge

Open the confirmation email we sent to your other account and click the link. To finish the merge you need to be signed in as the destination account — the one you started from — so if you're prompted, log in as that account.

The confirmation screen shows both accounts and exactly what's about to happen:

  • All data moves to the destination account — class completions, certifications, training plans, organizations, and more.
  • Single login — afterward you can sign in to the destination account with either email address.
  • Permanent — the merge can't be undone.

Type the destination account's email address to confirm, then click Yes, Merge Accounts. That's it — the two accounts are now one.

Managing Your Email Addresses

The same Emails & Account Merge screen also lets you manage the addresses on your account. Click Add New Email to attach another address — we'll send it a verification email — then mark any verified address as your Primary or remove one you no longer use. Adding your addresses here means you can sign in with any of them. It's also where a pending merge request lives until it's approved: from this screen you can resend the confirmation email or cancel the request before it's accepted.
